The Department of Budget and Management Regional Office (DBM RO) II and the Department of Education Regional Office (DepEd RO) II held a Full-Time Delivery Unit (FDU) meeting at the DepEd RO II Conference Hall in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, on May 22, 2024. This meeting marked the first DBM-DepEd FDU meeting involving the newly designated Acting Director IV of DBM RO II, Ms. Cherry W. Bravo. DepEd RO II Assistant Regional Director Florante Vergara, all Schools Division Superintendents, Accountants, Budget Officers, and DBM RO II technical staff also attended the meeting.

Director Bravo, in her opening address, emphasized the importance of discussing the smooth implementation of programs, addressing potential challenges, and identifying strategies to overcome bottlenecks. She noted that the result of the DepEd RO II performance would also affect DBM RO II performance.

Ms. Angelica Grace U. Tabangcura, Budget and Management Specialist (BMS) II, presented the FY 2023 Agency Performance Review Report for DepEd RO II, commending the agency for its high obligation utilization rate and providing recommendations for further improvement. Mr. Harley Bernieson D. Cortes, BMS I, discussed the latest DBM issuance and policies, highlighting the schools’ compliance with regular reportorial requirements.

During the meeting, it was agreed that DBM RO II should conduct learning sessions on budget execution and accountability, aimed at enhancing the skills of administrative officers and assistants in various schools throughout the region. Assistant Director Vergara, meanwhile, expressed his appreciation to DBM RO II, noting that this initiative will boost the capacity of the administrative staff and improve overall productivity.

The FDU meeting concluded on a high note, successfully accomplishing its objectives and reinforcing the collaborative efforts between the two offices. Moving forward, the strengthened partnership aims to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of program implementation, ensuring improved service delivery to respective stakeholders.
