On August 9, 2017, DBM Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno served as a resource person for the Philippine Development Forum: Sulong Pilipinas 2017 held at the Isabela Ballroom, EDSA Shangri-la Hotel.

Led by the Department of Finance and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the forum gathered private sector representatives and business groups across the country to evaluate government policies and propose actionable recommendations in support of the Duterte Administration’s development agenda.

In the Economic-Infrastructure panel discussion, Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno emphasized the Administration’s thrust for infrastructure development embodied in the “Build Build Build” program. A total of P8 to P9 trillion is projected to be spent on public infrastructure from 2017 to 2022, equivalent to 5.4 percent of GDP in 2017 rising to as much as 7.3% of GDP in 2022.
