On September 15, 2017, Department of Budget and Management Benjamin E. Diokno joined the officials and employees of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) in Quezon City on the agency’s 44th anniversary. The Budget Secretary, in his message as the guest of honor, congratulated the LWUA officials and staff on their anniversary and on their recent accomplishments, including the successful establishment of 520 Water Districts as of December 2016. In concluding his message, Sec. Diokno encouraged the LWUA officials and staff to “renew [their] oath as an agency to improve [their] service and break new ground in water supply development for provinces and municipalities.”Sec. Diokno served as the Chairman of the LWUA Board of Directors from January 1990 to March 1991.
