On March 6, Wednesday, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) were awarded for the headway that the Project D.I.M.E. has made in transparency and accountability efforts of the government during the 1st Anniversary of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC).

Undersecretary Lilia Guillermo received the award in behalf of the DBM before handing over the award to former Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno, now Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Undersecretary Lilia C. Guillermo discusses best practices of the DBM in upholding transparency and accountability.

Project D.I.M.E., which stands for Digital Imaging for Monitoring and Evaluation, uses existing technologies such as satellites, drones, Lidar, and geotagging software to monitor the status, financing, and implementation of big-ticket government projects.

These technologies are especially important for overseeing projects in far-flung areas wherein physical inspection would prove difficult.

Currently, Project D.I.M.E. oversees 12 high-value projects, including the Health Facilities Enhancement Program, the National Greening Program, and Farm-to-Market Roads, among others.

Besides recognizing and awarding government agencies for their programs and activities that thwart graft and corruption in the bureaucracy, the event also served as an opportunity for the deputation of agencies and the presentation of best practices.

The 1st Anniversary of the PACC was held at Heroes Hall, Malacanang Palace in Manila.
