The Marcos Administration is ready with its budget for disaster relief.
Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman confirmed the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is ready to support those extremely affected by the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted Abra and other parts of Luzon today, 27 July 2022.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to all affected by the earthquake. Rest assured that we are ready to support all operations for disaster relief with the necessary budget,” Budget Sec. Amenah Pangandaman said today in support of the united efforts of the government, under the leadership of President Ferdiand R. Marcos Jr, to assist victims of the earthquake.
“Government agencies may mobilize their Quick Response Fund (QRF) allocated in their respective budgets,” Sec Pangandaman added.
Further, upon completion of the damage assessment and recommendation by the NDRRMC, and following the approval of the President, agencies may tap into the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (NDRRMF) still available under the FY 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
The NDRRMF may be used for the reconstruction, rehabilitation, repair, aid, relief, and other works or services, including pre-disaster activities, in connection with the occurrence of natural calamities occurring in the current year.
