In adherence to the directive of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. to further improve health services for Filipino veterans, Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah "Mina" F. Pangandaman has approved the creation of 102 positions for the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).
The new 102 items will be distributed in various units within the VMMC, which constitute the second tranche of the 204 positions previously approved by the DBM in 2024.
"Prayoridad ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang mas pagbutihin ang serbisyong medikal para sa ating mga beterano at kanilang dependents. Kaya kasabay ng pagsasaayos ng pasilidad ng VMMC, inaprubahan po natin 'yung paglikha ng 102 additional positions para mabigyan ng kinakailangang workforce ang ospital," DBM Secretary Mina said.
"By providing quality medical service to our veterans, retired military personnel, and their beneficiaries, we are honoring their life of service with dignity and respect," Sec Mina added.
At present, the VMMC is a Level III, 766-bed capacity hospital which is mandated to provide premium medical services to the veterans and the retired military personnel, as well as their dependents through a comprehensive health care system.
In September 2024, the DBM approved the creation of 204 positions in the VMMC to augment its existing staff, which would be pursued in two tranches. The creation of the second tranche of the approved positions in the VMMC shall be subject to the filling of the first batch of the created items in the Medical Center.
For the second batch of newly created positions, 66 items will be for the hiring of medical and allied medical personnel, while 36 items will be opened for the administrative and support staff.

DBM, inaprubahan ang 102 bagong likhang medical, support positions para sa Veterans Memorial Medical Center
Bilang pagsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. na pagbutihin pa ang serbisyong pangkalusugan para sa mga Pilipinong beterano, inaprubahan ni Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah "Mina" F. Pangandaman ang paglikha ng 102 posisyon para sa Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).
Ipamamahagi ang bagong 102 na item sa iba't ibang unit sa loob ng VMMC, na bumubuo sa pangalawang bahagi ng 204 na posisyon na naunang inaprubahan ng DBM noong 2024.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang VMMC ay isang Level III, 766-bed capacity na ospital na may mandatong magbigay ng premium na serbisyong medikal sa mga beterano at mga retiradong military personnel, gayundin sa kanilang mga dependent sa pamamagitan ng comprehensive health care system.
Noong Setyembre 2024, inaprubahan ng DBM ang paglikha ng 204 na posisyon sa VMMC para dagdagan ang mga kasalukuyang kawani nito, na ipatutupad sa dalawang tranche. Ang paglikha ng pangalawang tranche ng mga naaprubahang posisyon sa VMMC ay isasakatuparan oras na mapuno ang unang batch ng mga nilikhang item sa Medical Center.
Para sa ikalawang batch ng mga bagong likhang posisyon, 66 na item ay para sa pagkuha ng mga medikal at allied medical personnel, habang 36 na mga item ang bubuksan para sa administrative at support staff.
