 DBM to Fully Cooperate with Ombudsman's Investigation into 'Overpriced' Laptop Deal in 2021
 
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is prepared to fully cooperate with the Office of the Ombudsman following its decision to file graft charges against former officials of the Procurement Service (PS)-DBM regarding the procurement of 'overpriced' laptops in 2021.
 
The PS is an agency attached to the DBM.
 
Led by Secretary Amenah "Mina" Pangandaman, the DBM affirms its commitment to cooperate with the investigation initiated by the Ombudsman.
 
"We respectfully acknowledge the Ombudsman's decision and are committed to supporting their legal proceedings. Transparency is our priority at the DBM. Therefore, should the Office of the Ombudsman require any assistance related to this matter, we will fully cooperate," said Sec. Mina.
 
The DBM also notes that the following former officials are no longer with the PS-DBM:

-PS-DBM Director IV and Officer-in-Charge Jasonmer Lagarto Uayan
-PS-DBM Procurement Management Officer IV Ulysses Evangelista Mora

-PS-DBM Procurement Management Officer V Paul Armand Abando Estrada
 
Under its current leadership, the DBM is actively reforming and digitalizing the country's procurement system to enhance accountability, transparency, and efficiency.
