Diokno, NEDA Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan, and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Felipe M. Medalla, will again engage with business leaders, bankers, and investors, this time in Washington, D.C. on April 12, 2023.

Secretary Diokno will deliver the keynote speech and present an overview of the country’s economic performance and key economic liberalization reforms encouraging foreign investments in different sectors of the country. It will be followed by presentations of Governor Medalla on the performance and outlook of the monetary, external, and financial sectors; Secretary Pangandaman on the priority expenditures supporting the Philippine Development Plan; and Secretary Balisacan on infrastructure investment and development in the Philippine Socioeconomic Agenda.

Representatives from the country’s development partners, including World Bank Country Director Ndiame Diop and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Deputy Director Sanjaya Panth, shall provide their respective reactions and outlook on the Philippines’ economic performance.

Also joining the economic managers during the panel discussion is Michael Rodriguez, Managing Director of Macquarie Asset Management.

Aside from the PEB, the country’s Economic Team is also set to join sideline meetings with Fitch Ratings and financial institutions, including the World Bank and IMF, for the Annual Spring Meetings.

The BSP organized the PEB in partnership with the Philippine Embassy and Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Washington, D. C., with the support of partner banks such as HSBC, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, BofA Securities, Standard Chartered Bank, and Morgan Stanley.  Carrying the theme, “Think Growth, Think Philippines,” the PEB serves as an avenue for the country’s economic managers to discuss investment opportunities in the Philippines.
