Advancing R&D towards economic growth
To sustain the implementation of various science, technology, and innovation, programs, the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has allocated a total of P8.8 billion for the Grants-In-Aid (GIA) Program, which is being implemented by the DOST (Department of Science and Technology).
"This GIA Program aims to spur economic growth through the strategic application of science and technology. By providing grants or funding to projects and proposals aligned with the DOST's priorities and thrusts, the Program intends to foster innovation and drive sustainable development," the President said in his Budget Message.
The Program also aims to strengthen the participation of various science and technology sectors, particularly in research and development, promotion, technology transfer and utilization, human resources development, information dissemination, advocacy, and linkages.
"I've always been an advocate of advancing research and development in the country. Thus, we shall continue providing necessary support to crucial programs such as GIA to help empower our innovators, researchers, and learners, to make a difference in society through science and technology undertakings," Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah "Mina" F. Pangandaman said.
The Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda 2022 to 2028 (HNRDA), which was prepared in consultation with government and private research and development institutions, the academe, industry and other concerned agencies, serves as a comprehensive framework for all science, technology, and innovation endeavors, as well as, a guide for the prioritization of research programs and projects to be funded.
In his Budget Message, President Bongbong Marcos also underscored the need to accelerate the use of science, technology, and innovation as tools for achieving economic and social transformation.
He mentioned the administration's goal of establishing the Philippines as a regional hub for smart and sustainable manufacturing, innovation, creativity, and sustainability. To attain this objective, the DOST will be provided with P28.8 billion under the proposed FY 2025 National Budget.

Pagsusulong ng R&D tungo sa pagpalago ng ekonomiya
DBM: PBBM admin, naglaan ng P8.8 billion para sa Grants-In-Aid Program ng DOST
Upang maipagpatuloy ang pagpapatupad ng iba’t ibang programa sa agham, teknolohiya, at inobasyon, naglaan ang administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ng kabuuang P8.8 bilyon para sa Grants-In-Aid (GIA) Program na ipinapatupad ng DOST (Department of Science and Technology).
"This GIA Program aims to spur economic growth through the strategic application of science and technology. By providing grants or funding to projects and proposals aligned with the DOST's priorities and thrusts, the Program intends to foster innovation and drive sustainable development," pahayag ng Pangulo sa kanyang mensahe sa Budget.
Layunin din ng Programa na palakasin ang partisipasyon ng iba’t ibang sektor ng teknolohiya, partikular sa research and development, promotion, technology transfer at utilization, human resources development, information dissemination, advocacy, at linkages.

Ang Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda 2022 to 2028 (HNRDA), na inihanda sa pamamagitan ng konsultasyon ng gobyerno at private research and development institutions, akademya, industriya at iba pang kinauukulang ahensya, ay nagsisilbing komprehensibong framework para sa lahat ng inisyatibo sa agham, teknolohiya, at inobasyon, gayundin bilang gabay sa pagpaprayoridad ng mga programa at proyekto sa pananaliksik na popondohan.
Sa kanyang Mensahe sa Budget, binigyang-diin din ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang pangangailangan na pabilisin ang paggamit ng agham, teknolohiya, at inobasyon bilang mga kasangkapan para makamit ang economic at social transformation.
Binanggit niya ang layunin ng administrasyon na gawin ang Pilipinas bilang regional hub para sa smart at sustainable manufacturing, inobasyon, creativity, at sustainability. Upang makamit ang layuning ito, pinaglaanan ang DOST ng P28.8 bilyon sa ilalim ng panukalang FY 2025 National Budget.
