DBM Press Release

Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah "Mina" F. Pangandaman approved the request for the issuance of Authority to Purchase Motor Vehicles (APMV) amounting to a total of P396.374 million to help boost the capability of the country's police force.

The APMV will be used to procure 402 units of motor vehicles (MVs) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government - Philippine National Police (DILG-PNP).

"We support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s commitment to boost the capability of our PNP. We strongly believe that a well-equipped police force is better positioned in promoting public safety. Sa huli po, itong pag-acquire ng mga motor vehicles ng ating kapulisan, ang mga kababayan din natin ang makikinabang," Sec. Mina said.

The fund to be utilized for the said purpose is chargeable against the Specific Budget of the PNP under the FY 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

It will cover the procurement of 40 patrol jeep 4x2, 115 personnel carrier 4x4, 40 light transport vehicles, 10 PNP vans, 183 light motorcycles, and 14 EOD vehicles.

The Budget Secretary approved the issuance of the APMV on 10 September 2024.
