Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah “Mina” F. Pangandaman approved the release of P14.046 billion to cover the regular pension requirements of military retirees for the period of July to September 2024.
The release of funds is in relation to the request of the Department of National Defense (DND) – Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Headquarters (GHQ). Secretary Pangandaman approved the said request on 14 June 2024.
“We are committed to ensuring the timely budget release of benefits to our esteemed military retirees. The approval of these funds demonstrates our dedication to honoring the service and sacrifice of our nation’s defenders, and upholding our responsibility to protect their welfare,” Secretary Pangandaman stated.
“Bahagi rin po ito ng isinusulong na Bagong Pilipinas ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na kung saan walang Pilipino ang maiiwan,” she added.
The released budget is set to benefit a total of 139,172 pensioners including the requirements for the resumption, transfer, and restoration of pension of military retirees and their legal beneficiaries.
The said fund is likewise chargeable against the Pension and Gratuity Fund under the Fiscal Year 2024 General Appropriations Act.

Pangandaman, inaprubahan ang pagpapalabas ng P14.046 bilyon para sa pensyon ng mga military retirees
Inaprubahan ni Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah “Mina” F. Pangandaman ang pagpapalabas ng P14.046 bilyon para masakop ang regular na pensyon ng mga military retirees para sa panahon ng Hulyo hanggang Setyembre 2024.
Ang pagpapalabas ng pondo ay kaugnay ng kahilingan ng Department of National Defense (DND) – Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Headquarters (GHQ). Inaprubahan ni Secretary Pangandaman ang nasabing kahilingan noong ika-14 ng Hunyo 2024.

Magbibigay-benepisyo ang inilabas na budget sa kabuuang 139,172 pensyonado, kasama ang mga kinakailangang hakbang para sa pagpapatuloy, paglipat, at pag-restore ng pensyon ng mga retiradong sundalo at kanilang mga ligal na benepisyaryo.
Kukunin din ang inilabas na pondo mula sa Pension and Gratuity Fund sa ilalim ng Fiscal Year 2024 General Appropriations Act.
