89 plantilla positions in National Museum of the Philippines

 

Recognizing the significant role of cultural heritage and history in the country's economic development, Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah “Mina” F. Pangandaman approved the request of the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) for organizational and staffing changes, giving green light to the creation of additional positions.
 
Under Republic Act (RA) No. 11333, the NMP is regarded as the primary institution of the State for the management and development of museums and collections of national scope or significance in the areas of arts, cultural heritage, and natural history, for purposes of protecting, preserving, studying, and promoting the national patrimony for the benefit of current and future generations, supporting education and social progress, and contributing to economic development through tourism and educational, scientific, cultural, and leisure services and industries.
 
 “We believe that these organizational and staffing changes will significantly enhance the National Museum’s operations, allowing the agency to better serve the public and fulfill its mission to preserve and promote our cultural heritage," Secretary Pangandaman said.
 
"Nais po ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na kasama sa ating national agenda ang pagpapalakas sa turismo at pangangalaga sa ating pagkakakilanlan. Kaya naman po patuloy pong bibigyang suporta ng DBM ang NMP at mga programa nito," she added.
 
The organizational modifications approved by the DBM include the modification of the nomenclature of a certain unit to clearly indicate its specific roles, functions, and activities being carried out.
 
The DBM has also approved the creation of 89 permanent positions in various units of the NMP across the country to support the existing staff of the agency, as well as further enhance its operations.
 
Additionally, the reclassification and conversion of certain positions were likewise approved by the DBM to support the NMP in performing essential functions, such as providing lectures/gallery talks, preparation of reports and other documents, and undertaking of other technical and general support-related tasks.
 
Meanwhile, the transfer of a number of positions from one unit to another was also approved to support the implementation of the key NMP programs, projects, and activities.
 
The approved organizational and staffing modifications in the NMP is contained in the Notice of Organization, Staffing and Compensation Action that was issued by the DBM on 21 May 2024.

Pangandaman, inaprubahan ang paglikha ng 89 plantilla positions sa National Museum of the Philippines
 
Bilang pagkilala sa malaking papel ng pamana ng kultura at kasaysayan sa pag-unlad ng ekonomiya ng bansa, inaprubahan ni Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah “Mina” F. Pangandaman ang kahilingan ng National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) para sa mga pagbabago sa organisasyon at pagdagdag ng mga posisyon.
 
Sa ilalim ng Republic Act (RA) No. 11333, itinuturing ang NMP bilang pangunahing institusyon ng Estado para sa pamamahala at pagpapaunlad ng mga museo at koleksyon na may pambansang saklaw o kahalagahan sa mga larangan ng sining, kultural na pamana, at natural na kasaysayan para sa layunin na protektahan, ingatan, pag-aralan, at isulong ang pambansang pamana para sa kapakinabangan ng kasalukuyang at susunod na henerasyon, pagsuporta sa edukasyon at social progress, at makapag-ambag sa ekonomikong pag-unlad sa pamamagitan ng turismo at mga serbisyo at industriya sa edukasyon, pang-agham, pangkultura, at panglibangan.

Kasama sa mga inaprubahang pagbabago ng DBM sa organisasyon ang modipikasyon sa nomenclature ng isang tiyak na yunit upang malinaw na ipakita ang mga partikular na tungkulin, gawain, at aktibidad nito.
 
Inaprubahan din ng DBM ang paglikha ng 89 permanenteng posisyon sa iba’t ibang yunit ng NMP sa buong bansa upang suportahan ang kasalukuyang tauhan ng ahensya at mapalakas pa ang operasyon nito.
 
Bukod dito, ang reclassification at conversion ng ilang posisyon ay inaprubahan din ng DBM upang suportahan ang NMP sa pagganap ng mahahalagang gawain, tulad ng pagbibigay ng mga lecture o gallery talk, paghahanda ng mga ulat at iba pang dokumento, at pagsasagawa ng iba’t ibang teknikal at pangkalahatang gawain.
 
Samantala, ang paglipat ng ilang posisyon mula sa isang yunit patungo sa iba ay inaprubahan din upang suportahan ang pagpapatupad ng mga pangunahing programa, proyekto, at aktibidad ng NMP.
 
Ang mga inaprubahang pagbabago sa organization at staffing sa NMP ay nakasaad sa Notice of Organization, Staffing and Compensation Action na inisyu ng DBM noong ika-21 ng Mayo 2024.
