Sec. Mina Visits DBM RO X, Advocates Digitalization and Women Empowerment

By: Eva Jane L. Buctuan, DBM RO X

Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman visited the Department of Budget and Management Regional Office (DBM RO) X for the second time on May 8, 2024.

She was warmly welcomed at a breakfast meeting at the DBM RO X Building in Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City. Joined by Undersecretaries Wilford Will Wong and Goddes Hope Libiran, her second visit was significant in the ongoing efforts toward progressive change within government institutions. The visit’s primary objective was to assess the employees’ well-being and ensure the smooth implementation of DBM’s commitment and services for clientele agencies at the regional level.

During her address to the regional office, Secretary Pangandaman emphasized two key advocacies – digitalization and women empowerment. She stressed the urgent need for digital transformation within government offices, highlighting its potential to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accessibility of prompt services to the public. Further, as a female leader, Secretary Pangandaman passionately advocated for women's empowerment, emphasizing the importance of gender equality in leadership positions.

Regional Director Rudylia Parrel echoed the Secretary’s sentiments, fully supporting her advocacies. She also emphasized the important role of digitalization in driving organizational success and the significance of female leadership in promoting a more inclusive society.

Secretary Pangandaman’s visit also included a tour of the newly rehabilitated Procurement Service Depot in Cagayan de Oro, located within the DBM compound. The modernized facility reflects the government’s commitment to improving procurement processes and ensuring the efficient utilization of public funds.
