Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Mina F. Pangandaman has authorized the release of a Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA) in the amount of ₱212.77 million to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). This is to implement the programs of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Development in the region for the 1st quarter of 2024.
“Our collective efforts at developing BARMM are bearing fruit. Thus, our kababayans can be assured that we will continue to provide strong support to BARMM as we secure a future-proof and sustainable economy,” Sec. Pangandaman said.
The released NCA is part of the P3.22 billion funds allocated for the BARMM which was directly transferred from the appropriation of the DSWD Central Office for the implementation of its banner programs.
The said allocation is intended for the continued implementation of the following DSWD programs in the Bangsamoro region: Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens, Sustainable Livelihood Program, Supplementary Feeding Program and the Implementation of R.A. No. 10868 or the Centenarians Act of 2016.
“We will continue to give all the necessary aid to our brothers and sisters in Mindanao because their success is the success of every Filipino. This is aligned with the call of our beloved President Bongbong Marcos for a Bagong Pilipinas, where inclusivity and unity are of utmost importance. Sa Bagong Pilipinas, walang maiiwan, lalong-lalo na po ang Mindanao,” added Sec. Pangandaman.
The fund release was approved by Sec. Pangandaman on 20 February 2024, chargeable against the FY 2024 GAA.
