The Department of Budget and Management, through its Capacity Development Division of the Advocacy, Communications and Training Service (ACTS-CDD), held a three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) to enhance the teaching and presentation skills of DBM speakers for the Public Financial Management Competency Program (PFMCP) and Internal Audit Manual for Local Government Units (IAM for LGUs). Held from June 4 to 6, 2024, at Twin Lakes Hotel, Tagaytay, the training provided the 68 participants from the DBM Central and Regional Offices with a structured platform to revisit and hone essential presentation and facilitation techniques, as well as deeply assess their skill levels, and strategically enhance them.

Mr. Eric Riego de Dios, an esteemed HR thought leader and subject matter expert, served as lecturer and resource person. He guided the participants throughout the learning sessions, discussing interesting topics such as Understanding Adult Learning Principles and the Roles of Facilitators and Trainers in a Learning Session, Creating Impactful Training Materials (How to Use GenAI for Creating and Designing Content), Facilitating to Address Disruption and Disengagement, and Effective Training Delivery Techniques.

On the last training day, the participants had a 15-minute presentation simulation on PFMCP and IAM for LGUs training materials, applying and practicing what they had learned, while training experts from the ACTS-CDD and the Systems and Productivity Improvement Bureau provided critique and feedback.

The event ended with a closing message from ACTS Director Atty. Diana Camacho-Mercado. She encouraged the participants to continually embrace learning opportunities and always strive for excellence.
