Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno together with Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas, and other local government officials visited Tingloy, Mabini and Taalto inspect and assess damages caused by the earthquake swarms that hit the province.

Sec. Diokno told he wanted to personally see the 5.6 magnitude of damage brought by the April 4 earthquake for a faster release of the budget andprovide assistance and priority needs to the affected residents.

He also suggested prioritizing ports and buildings that were extremely damaged.

Based on the data provided by the Office of the Governor, the estimated cost of damages for the whole province is more or less PHP2 billion.

During the community dialogue with the local officials, Sec. Diokno promised that aid would come to the affected residents of the town as soon as possible.
