Proposed budget backs salary hike, P350 daily subsistence allowance, additional police personnel, equipment, technology, and personnel welfare
Higher pay, 2,000 additional police officers, better equipment and technology, and stronger health and welfare support are lined up for the Philippine National Police (PNP) under its proposed P242.53-billion budget for 2027, as the government invests in both the men and women on the frontlines and their capacity to keep Filipino communities safe.
The proposed allocation is P15.98 billion higher than the P226.55-billion PNP budget in 2026, with substantial resources directed toward strengthening police manpower, compensation, operational capability, and personnel welfare.
Of the proposed budget, P210.55 billion is allocated for Personnel Services, including P100.549 billion for the adjusted base pay of uniformed personnel under the second tranche of the salary adjustment pursuant to Executive Order No. 107.
Another P28.670 billion is proposed for the P350 daily subsistence allowance of 224,421 PNP personnel, providing additional support to police officers and personnel serving communities nationwide.
DBM Acting Secretary Kim Robert C. De Leon earlier underscored the additional compensation support for uniformed personnel under the proposed 2027 budget.
Pareho sila ng benepisyo,” De Leon said.
Beyond higher pay and allowances, the government is also proposing to put more police officers on the ground. A total of P697.18 million is proposed for the hiring of 2,000 additional patrolmen and patrolwomen nationwide, while P2.186 billion will support the filling of currently unfilled uniformed positions.
The investment in public safety extends beyond manpower. Of the total proposed PNP budget, P225.754 billion is earmarked for the Crime Prevention and Suppression Program, supporting the PNP’s frontline operations to prevent and suppress crime and maintain peace and order nationwide.
The proposed budget maintains P2.0 billion for the PNP Capability Enhancement Program, which supports the procurement of mobility, communications, firepower, anti-terrorism, and other mission-critical equipment.
De Leon earlier emphasized that government support extends to the facilities and operational requirements police personnel need to perform their duties.
At iyong MOOE natin actually tumaas ng 10% from P23 billion this year to P25.7 billion next year para iyong lahat ng pangangailangan ng ating mga police ay ma-cover,” De Leon said.
Further strengthening the PNP’s operational readiness, P3.12 billion is proposed for information and communications technology (ICT), while another P1.499 billion is earmarked for infrastructure projects.
The proposed FY 2027 budget likewise recognizes that stronger policing also means taking care of the police personnel tasked to protect communities and their families.
A total of P1.74 billion is proposed for rice subsidy, while P280.67 million is allocated for the hospitalization and healthcare needs of PNP personnel and their dependents.
Another P125.11 million is proposed for the Bantay Kaisipan Health Program, reinforcing support for the physical and mental well-being of police personnel.
These proposed investments strengthen the PNP on multiple fronts: better compensation, additional manpower, stronger operational capabilities, modern technology and infrastructure, and greater support for the welfare of police personnel and their families.
By investing in the people behind the badge as much as the tools they need on the ground, the proposed 2027 budget seeks to build a stronger and more responsive police force—and ultimately, safer and more peaceful communities for every Filipino.
