President Rodrigo Roa Duterte attended the National Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Summit 2018 at the SMX Convention Center in Lanang, Davao City. The two-day Summit from June 21 to 22, 2018 was a culmination of the ICT month that centered on the theme, ‘Empowering the Filipino through Digital Transformation’. It aimed to present and demonstrate how Filipinos can be empowered through digital transformation of government processes that provide efficient services and fast access to accurate information. In his speech, President Duterte reiterated the government’s pursuit for technological development. “Itong technology and the desire of our country to at least come into parity to others in terms of modernization of technology has a very long story.
